One of the most important things about booking hotels anywhere is the location. The hardest thing in any city you have never been to before is visualising the location of all these hotels in such as large space. This is where google maps comes in as it allows you to zoom in and out in a very unique way that we have never seen before. This map can be quite daunting as it features so many hotels so the important thing is to pick an area and zoom in to find only hotels in that sector. The bigger dots represent bigger hotel chains by the way.

Delancys big yellow shots sent in here from a spy in the Huston and Allen juntion. Weird thing about this dev is that i was orginally sheduled for 16 stories and now is going for 20. Hard to believe they just decided to go for 20 on a whim as its a pretty big addition. Word is these are mainly luxury aparts so i dont know how well these are going to do in the current climate but we will see. Its sheduled for a sping opening but that looks like fantasy from the photos.
Still no name for the weird blue copper structure in the east village. Bit strange as we usually have a name to go with the main purpose of the place for marketing reasons but maybe is a PR stunt. However im thinking the developer is quickly looking for another purpose for the blue copper instead of apartments in the current climate.

I think open house viewings are great as you can just drop in when its on without an appointment and all the organising that goes with that. Some great deals in the current climate so check below if theres anything in your price range. Im not sure what kind of lee way you will get on these prices. Ie if people have already discounted them but could be worth a try going a good 20k lower in most cases in my opinion.

Think the teetering state of the commercial real estate market has put a premature end to the trend of building owners paying for facade face-lifts? Heck, that’s what we thought, especially after the strange debacle that is 3 Columbus Circle, and the fact that the re-cladding of 1095 Sixth Avenue actually may have harmed the building rather than help it. So along comes the Observer to inform us that Vornado Realty Trust, owner of the 39-story office building at 330 Madison Avenue, is set to sink $100 million into a glassy new exterior and interior modifications for the tower. In addition to the new curtain wall, 330 Madison (at 42nd Street) will also get an enlarged lobby and a new storefront. The work is expected to begin within three months.
What do you look for in a potential apartment? Well its a good question and one that suprisingly most people dont actually spend alot of time thinking about before they go hunting for places to live. I may sound ovious but you really do need to make a list of the thing that are most important to you for any potential property. Also remmeber that one persons list of priorities may be very different from the next, ie think schools.

One of the most overlooked things is distance. People often fall in love with an apartment as soon as they see it and forget that it may take an hour or more to get to their workplace. You need to add up facts like these and stay practical at all times when chosing any place to live. Another thing that has become increasingly important for people is an apartments energy rating. This scale allows you to see at a glance how effective any property is at retaining heat. This will depend of course on the insulation and general build quality of the property. I think we will find that this factor becomes one of the most important there is in the coming years especially as energy prices go higher and higher.
